Not the most exclusive, but certainly one of the most charismatic of rarities, Shetland is THE place to find an Arctic Warbler. This obliging first-winter bird spent two days in the rose bushes at Sumburgh Head in early September, but there have already been five at least in Shetland this autumn, with plenty of time left for us to better last year’s total of nine.
